1) Rev. Rhenius is called an apostle of Tirunelveli, and his full name is Charles Theophiles Ewald Rhenius. He served the Lord from 1814 to 1820

2) His primary goal was to travel a long way to preach the gospel and build churches in villages

3) By the grace of God and the hard efforts of Rev. Rhenius built 400 churches and 200 schools

4) The people who accepted Jesus during his period were oppressed and underwent much suffering. So Rev. Rhenius has founded a separate place for such people and made it into a village like Megnanapuram, Idayankulam, Asirvathapuram, Nallur, Surandai and Dohnavur.

5) June 05th 1838. Rhenius died at the age of 48
